Registration and rates
You can register without a referral, either with or without a referral for uninsured care. However, for insured specialized mental health care, a referral from your general practitioner or care coordinator is always required and is only possible through 1NP.
The current waiting time for treatment is 6 to 8 weeks. Only insured care through the 1NP network organization has a longer waiting time, as this primarily provides longer-term treatments for very complex trauma and dissociative disorders. The average waiting time is between 10 and 14 months. These waiting times are updated regularly.
Reimbursement and self-payment
The practice has no contracts with health insurers. This means you pay for treatment in advance or on-site and submit your own claim to your insurer. Currently, at least 50% of BIG-registered mental healthcare is reimbursed, but this can vary depending on your insurance. You therefore pay the additional amount yourself. Always check with your insurer yourself to avoid any surprises. Fully insured care is only available through 1NP.
Rates according to NZA guidelines:
1NP has a different pricing policy; costs are billed directly to the health insurance provider. The applicable rates are shown on the invoice.
No-show policy: Appointments can be cancelled up to 24 hours in advance; otherwise, a €65 fee will be charged.
Treatments through 1NP are paid directly through your health insurance. Please note that you must always pay the €385 deductible to your health insurer. No-show policy: Appointments can be cancelled up to 24 hours in advance, otherwise a €65 charge will be applied.
